Job Purpose

Synexa works in a collaborative manner with clients to provide customized, flexible and multi-faceted biomarker solutions. Our Client Services Unit (CSU) serves as an unofficial bridge between the Business Development (BD) Unit, Chief Medical Officer, Study Management (SM) Unit, as well as Laboratory staff. Joining the CSU, the main purpose and objective of a Scientific Proposals Developer involves the preparation of accurate, scientifically sound proposals, with input from various scientific teams and senior management, for sharing with prospective and current clients.

DUTIES may include, but are not limited to:

  • Work alongside the Business Development (BD), Chief Medical Officer, Scientific Engagement Manager and Client Services Unit (CSU) in the generation of quotes and proposals.
  • Ensure the prepared quotes and proposals sufficiently cover the analytical requirements in the respective laboratories. The candidate will form an integral part of this unit, performing this principal duty.
  • Ensure quote updates for on-going studies are prepared and shared with the Study Management Unit.
  • Manage the CRM database when including and maintaining quotations.
  • This is a hybrid role. The successful candidate will be required on-site at our Cape Town site at least once per week, as well as avail themselves for an orientation week to shadow the Cape Town laboratory staff.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor of Science Honours.
  • Background with immunology, inflammatory disease and/or cell biology.
  • Numeracy skills. For example, bookkeeping or accountancy experience.
  • Experience with clinical trial research

Core Competencies

  • Knowledge and understanding of the following techniques: flow cytometry, ELISA, qPCR.
  • Word processor and Excel competency.
  • Good interpersonal skills, capable of working in a team of individuals with varied backgrounds and experience.
  • High attention to detail.
