Sustainability without any compromise on quality
Laboratories play a crucial role in advancing healthcare but are among the most resource-intensive environments in the life sciences industry — laboratories use around four times as much water and 5-10 times as much energy as a standard office building.
To minimise our impact on the environment, Synexa is committed to implementing and enhancing sustainability practices throughout the organisation, without any compromise on quality or scientific excellence.
We’ve partnered with My Green Lab to enhance environmental sustainability at Synexa and reduce our company and laboratory’s environmental footprint. Our Cape Town lab has already received ‘Green’ Level Certification, the highest possible certification, with a score of 83%.
We are actively implementing the necessary processes and updating infrastructures to obtain My Green Lab certification at all Synexa laboratories globally.
About My Green Lab
My Green Lab is a non-profit environmental organisation with a mission to build a global culture of sustainability in science. The organisation is the world leader in developing internationally recognised sustainability standards for laboratories and laboratory products, bringing sustainability to the community responsible for the world’s life-changing medical and technical innovations. Laboratories are one of the most resource-intensive spaces in any industry, but they don’t have to be. By introducing both a new perspective and proven best practices within a carefully crafted framework, My Green Lab has inspired tens of thousands of scientists to make a positive change in their labs by reducing the environmental impact of their work.Â
