Synexa Life Sciences appoints Jordyn van Teylingen as Chief Operating Officer and Natalie Strickland as Chief Scientific Officer

MANCHESTER, UK – Synexa Life Sciences, a global provider of biomarker and bioanalytical solutions to the pharmaceutical, biotech and CRO industries, today announces the appointment of Jordyn van Teylingen as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Natalie Strickland as Chief Scientific Officer (CSO).

These leadership appointments reflect Synexa’s continued commitment to strengthening both operational and scientific excellence as the company expands its global capabilities and supports the evolving needs of customers across the drug development landscape. Based in the Netherlands, Jordyn van Teylingen will transition from Co-Chief Scientific Officer to Chief Operating Officer, with Natalie Strickland assuming sole responsibility for scientific leadership.

As COO, Jordyn will be responsible for driving operational excellence, harmonising delivery, advancing digital initiatives, and strengthening the systems and processes that support Synexa’s global operations.

Jordyn joined Synexa in 2019 and has progressed through a series of scientific and leadership roles, most recently serving as Co-Chief Scientific Officer. Throughout her career at Synexa, she has played a pivotal role in advancing the company’s scientific capabilities, supporting organisational growth, and strengthening its position as a trusted partner to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Her appointment as COO reflects both her proven leadership and her deep understanding of the operational and scientific functions that underpin Synexa’s global business. Holding an MSc in Medical Physiology from Stellenbosch University, she combines extensive experience in bioanalytical science and operational leadership with a strong understanding of the delivery frameworks required to support complex clinical research programmes.

As Chief Scientific Officer, Natalie will lead all scientific disciplines across Synexa’s global business, providing unified scientific leadership across the organisation. Her responsibilities include scientific strategy, scientific partnerships, thought leadership, lab harmonisation, regulatory excellence, and scientific innovation. In this role, she will ensure continued scientific excellence, consistency and innovation across the company’s full range of platforms and capabilities: large and small molecule bioanalysis; soluble biomarker analysis using MSD, LC-MS/MS, ELISA, RIA, fluorescence and luminescence-based technologies; cell biology, including flow cytometry, cell-based assays, ELISpot and Fluorospot; and genomic services supporting clinical trials and translational studies.

Natalie earned her PhD in Molecular Genetics from Stellenbosch University before transitioning into infectious disease immunology, with a special interest in cellular immunity to HIV/TB co-infection during her postdoctoral research at the University of Cape Town. Most recently, Natalie served as Co-Chief Scientific Officer (Co-CSO) at Synexa alongside Jordyn, helping to shape the company’s scientific strategy and capabilities. She has extensive experience in molecular and advanced immunological techniques, including multiparameter flow cytometry, and has played a key role in the development and validation of complex flow cytometry, cell-based and genomic assays, as well as the advancement of Synexa’s translational services capabilities.

Emile Lens, Chief Executive Officer at Synexa Life Sciences, said:

“These appointments recognise the exceptional leadership, expertise and commitment that both Jordyn and Natalie have demonstrated throughout their careers at Synexa. Jordyn’s transition from Co-Chief Scientific Officer to Chief Operating Officer reflects her unique ability to bridge scientific excellence and operational execution, while Natalie is exceptionally well positioned to provide unified leadership across our scientific organisation. Together, they will continue to play a critical role as members of our global leadership team, strengthening our global capabilities, supporting continued growth, and ensuring we continue delivering excellence for our customers.”
